Water wise

I grew up in a part of the country that experienced severe drought when I was an impressionable youngster. We used rinse water from the washing machine to water plants and flush toilets. We collected rainwater in a barrel; we didn't let one drop of water go down the drain without capturing it in a vessel to use on something else. To this day (40 + years later), I cannot stand the sound of water running or dripping. Waiting for the water to heat, I collect it in gallon jugs at the kitchen sink and bathroom to use for pet water, watering plants, boiling potatoes. It's a precious resource and we shouldn't waste any of it.
