In 2021, the Helena City Commission set an ambitious goal to reduce waste to landfills by 50% by 2040, with an interim goal of 35% reduction by 2030.

To reach this goal, over the past 4 months the City engaged with residents, businesses, institutions, and community groups to develop its Strategic Plan for Waste Reduction.

Get a sneak peek presentation of Helena’s Strategic Plan for Waste Reduction before it is presented to the City Commission on June 15.

At this meeting, the final community event of the strategic planning process, attendees will learn the details of the plan and have an opportunity to engage in a Q&A with City staff and the project consultants.
